Introduction to IBPS PO

IBPS PO (Probationary Officer) is a sort of admission test for manager level post in various banks of India and is organised by IBPS (The institute of Banking Personnel) every year. An IBPS PO or Bank PO is a scale 1 assistant manager in bank therefore is called a scale 1 officer.IBPS provides services to all public sector banks, co-operative banks, insurance companies, SBI, NABARD, RBI, LIC, SIDBI, government departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Regional Rural Banks and even some state organizations. The job attracts a lot of candidates every year because of its job security, salary, perks, good work life balance and various other allowances which are provided by the banks.

IBPS PO Salary

The salary of a bank PO is roughly between 30000 to 40000 but it depends on the bank. The Bank PO  are also provided with various other allowances that  vary from bank to bank.

IBPS PO 2017 Notification

IBPS PO 2017 notification will be released in between the month of July and August. According to the calendar released by IBPS the prelims and the mains exam is going to happen in the month of October 2017 and November 2017.

IBPS PO 2017 Vacancy

The official vacancy notification would be released in the month of July 2017 but last year there were 9000 vacancies for bank po and management trainee with over 20 lakh aspirants appearing.

IBPS PO 2017 Eligibility

Qualification

The education qualification for the  IBPS PO 2017  is the graduation degree from a government recognized university. Any candidate can apply for IBPS PO who has such an equivalent education qualification to this level.

Language

Spoken and written proficiency in the official state or union territory language. The candidate should be able to speak, write and read in that.

Computer Literacy

A fair knowledge of computer systems is needed for the job; also it is necessary to give the exam conducted in online mode.

Age eligibility to appear in IBPS 2017 exam

A person should not be less than 20 years of age and not more than 30 years of age to appear in IBPS 2017 exam but there is an age relaxation criterion in addition. As per government rule there is a category based age relaxation as follows:

IBPS PO 2017 Interview

The candidates who have qualified the preliminary exam and the main exam are allowed to sit in the IBPS PO 2017 interview, The minimum marks required to clear the interview is 40 % and 35 % for SC/ST/PwD and OBC.

The interview is around 15 to 20 minutes long where the banking officials ask about the current affairs, general awareness, banking sector, etc. The candidate should be in a proper formal dress code with all his documents, the key to crack the IBPS PO 2017 interview is the confidence.

Result of IBPS PO 2017

The final merit list of IBPS PO 2017 is prepared with the marks obtained in the mains exam and the interview round with the weightage takes as 80:20.
