Canada Immigration: Canadian Provinces invite candidates to apply for immigration
Four provinces of Canada have invited candidates to apply for the latest provincial immigration under the Canada immigration. The 4 provinces are as follows: - British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec, and Prince Edward. These provinces have invited candidates to apply through provincial immigration programs recently. Alberta and Quebec draw are the most recent publications that happened in December.
Except for Quebec and Nunavut, most Canadian provinces and territories follow their own Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). These programs invite interested candidates to apply for the provincial nomination. This helps candidates in gaining permanent residence. A total of 105,000 PRs.
Quebec has been the exception in all cases. Its immigration programs are distinct from Canada’s immigration programs and are handled by the province. The province of Quebec is the only one that has control over all economic-class immigrants.
Detailed information about the Canada immigration concerning four Provinces is given below-
1. British Columbia-
On 17 January, British Columbia invited more than 187 candidates to apply under PNP. This number includes 154 candidates who are invited by the province in a general draw. The invitations were for the Skilled Worker and International Graduates categories and also included candidates of Express Entry and Entry Level and Semi-skilled.
Criteria for candidates-
Skilled Worker and International Graduate- Minimum 105 SIRS score.
Entry Level and Semi-Skilled- 82 SIRS score
Candidates working in the following occupations were also invited by the province-
• Early childhood educators and assistants scoring at least 60 points- 18 candidates
• Healthcare workers from all the above three categories with at least 60 points as scores- 15 candidates
• And other occupations in demand with the same score criterion as above.
2. Alberta-
Here, immigration is handled by the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). It has invited 129 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. Candidates can apply through the Alberta Express Entry Stream. And a minimum 305 CRS score is required from the candidates.
A combination of high demand and immediate family ties will decide the invitation of the Express Entry candidates to the AAIP. No change is expected in the eligibility criteria in any stream of the AAIP.
3. Quebec-
1047 skilled workers have been invited by Quebec for permanent selection. The invitation targeted those candidates who had occupations with specific NOCs and who required job offers outside of the Montreal Metropolitan Community.
Those candidates who are invited for permanent selection will have a maximum of 60 days to submit the application and pay the processing fees. Quebec aims to complete this process within six months, with all forms and documents.
4. Prince Edward Island
On 19 January, 216 candidates were invited by this province through the Labour and Express stream. Another invitation was sent to seven candidates through the Business Work Permit Entrepreneur with some score criteria.
This was the 1st draw for the Prince Edward Island (PEI) PNP in 2023. PEI usually holds monthly basis draws.
Canada’s PNP works as follows-
• The program is for those workers who are skilled, educated and have work experience to contribute to the economy.
• The program is for those workers who want to live in that particular province or territory.
• And for those workers who want to gain permanent residency in Canada.
