"The Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities (the 'Consortium') decided at their meetings on April 26, 2024, that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 2 PM to 4 PM. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted for admission to five-year integrated LLB and LLM courses at the National Law Universities (NLUs). Eligibility:-
Candidates intending to appear in the law entrance exam must meet the eligibility conditions prescribed by the NLU Consortium. The eligibility criteria for CLAT are as follows:
For UG: Candidates should have passed class 12 with at least 45 percent marks (40% for SC and ST candidates).
For PG: Candidates should have passed LLB with at least 50 percent marks (45% for SC and ST candidates).
Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in the CLAT exam. Candidates can attempt the law entrance exam at any age or any number of times.
How to register:-
The CLAT 2025 registration process is expected to start tentatively in the first week of July. However, the exam authority has not specified an exact date and time. Candidates can register themselves on the CLAT's official website by following these steps:
- Visit the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
- Click on the registration tab.
- Fill in the necessary details, including name, password, and contact details.
- Click on the register button to complete the registration process.
- Upon successful registration, candidates can proceed with the CLAT 2025 application form process.
- Click on 'Apply for CLAT.'

Pattern:-
The exams for UG candidates will cover the following subjects: current affairs, including general knowledge, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, quantitative techniques, and English language. For PG candidates, the questions will focus on constitutional law and other areas of law such as jurisprudence, criminal law, property law, family law, administrative law, company law, public international law, tax law, law of contracts, torts, environmental law, and labor and industrial law.
Syllabus:-
The Consortium will announce the CLAT 2025 syllabus on its official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The syllabus of CLAT 2025 outlines the subjects and topics covered in the exam. Last year, the Consortium revised the CLAT syllabus to make it more student-friendly, reducing the number of questions from 150 to 120 in CLAT UG. No changes were made to the CLAT PG syllabus. Candidates should refer to the CLAT syllabus 2025 while preparing for the examination.
