CSIR NET 2024 Cheating through Remote Access Device
CSIR-UGC
NET 2024: On Friday
26 July UP Special Task Force(STF) made a raid on Subharti University in the Meerut
district regarding the CSIR-Net examination breach. The results of the UP
police investigation showed that there had been a breach in the computer lab
system used for the exam. The team found another computer connected to the
laboratory using a Local Area Network (LAN), according to UP STF chief Amitabh
Yash.
The UP STF took
three Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employees into custody. Eleven
candidates' names and IP addresses were allegedly found on the three
confiscated mobile phones, and the exam Centre’s remote access was visible on
two of the retrieved laptops using Any Desk. Subharti University said the lab was
rented out to TCS and has denied any wrongdoing.
According
to UGC requirements, the CSIR UGC NET exam evaluates candidates’ eligibility
for JRF, Assistant Professorship, and PhD admissions in Indian universities and
colleges. The CSIR-UGC NET 2024 examination was supposed to be held on the 25th,
26th, and 27th of July between two shifts where morning timings were 9 o’clock
to noon as well as afternoon shift during the hours 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The
National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the CSIR-NET exam while the
technology facilitator job is done by TCS.
Amitabh
Yash added in his statement, It is suspected that the candidates used Any Desk,
a remote desktop program that lets users access and control equipment from
anywhere as if they were using them locally, to share access to their computers
with a "solver" seated outside the exam centre.
Arun Sharma
and Mohammed Usman, two TCS workers, have been taken into custody; the identity
of the third individual apprehended is not reviled yet. According to the
police, the devices that were found on them are being examined in order to
identify the other members of the gang.
Subharti
University mentioned that it had rented out the technology facilitator job to
TCS and distanced itself from the reported rigging. The institution is not
involved in any exam manipulation because TCS is solely responsible for
administering the test, according to Additional Registrar Syed Zafar Hussain.
