Due to the state of no activity by DCI at the postponement of NEET MDS 2024, students are appealing to the Ministry of Health and FORDA to help over 8000 ineligible candidates by extending eligibility and postponing the examination.

FORDA president, Dr. Aviral Mathur has taken to X (previously Twitter) to address the continuing troubles of almost 8000 students being ineligible for NEET MDS 2024. In a series of tweets, he expressed solidarity with the affected voters and promised to advocate their tale.

Acknowledging the seriousness of the situation, Dr. Mathur entreated university students to be specific, assuring them that FORDA should aid their complaints. He lamented the resurgence of performance control, equating the similarities and achievements made through the Dental Council of India (DCI) and the National Medical Council (NMC) within the past 12 months. The NEET-MDS 2024 exam notification was posted on February 20, 2024, and the exam date was fixed as March 18, 2024. The court extended the internship crowning honour reduction date to March 31, 2024, few worried about epidemics so they might leave college students.

Notably, the petitioners raised the issue of inequality between the NEET-MDS and NEET-PG 2024 exams in terms of administrative cutoff dates. While the NEET-PG 2024 exam was scheduled to be held on July 7, 2024, with a reduction in internship date fixed for August 15, 2024, NEET-MDS candidates were given the same facility

Gaurav Sharma, appearing on behalf of the National Dental Commission, informed the court that the Union of India had actively turned around the problem and sought facts from the commission. He explained that the internship cut-off date for the MDS exams was set to simplify the exam process and curriculum development for post-pandemic problems.

Finding that the problem was in respect of coverage domain, the Supreme Court directed the petitioners to publish notices to the Union of India and rectify them at the earliest. The court directed that the matter be heard expeditiously, preferably within one week from the date of the order.
