GATE 2025 Registration Begins Today: Apply Now at IIT Roorkee’s Official Website

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has officially opened the registration process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 today, August 24, 2024. Engineering graduates and students in related fields planning to pursue higher education or careers in engineering, technology, and architecture can now apply for the prestigious examination through the official portal at gate2025.iitr.ac.in.

The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled to be conducted on four dates next year: February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. The registration process will remain open until September 26, 2024. However, candidates who miss this deadline can still submit their applications with a late fee until October 7, 2024.

Candidates are eligible to apply for GATE 2025 if they hold a graduate degree in engineering or technology or are in the final year of their bachelor’s degree program. Additionally, those in the final year of a course in the science field or who have completed one are also eligible to take the GATE examination in 2025.

Registration Fees

The GATE 2025 registration fee structure is as follows:

General Category: ₹1800 (increases to ₹2300 after September 26)

Female, SC, ST, and PWD Candidates: ₹900 (increases to ₹1400 after September 26)

Candidates are encouraged to complete their registration by the initial deadline to avoid the higher fees.

Exam Structure and Results

The GATE 2025 exam will be three hours long and will include two sections: General Aptitude (GA) and the subject selected by the candidate during registration. The exam will consist of 65 questions in total, with 10 questions from General Aptitude and 55 from the chosen subject area.

As per the official GATE 2025 brochure, the results will be announced on March 19, 2025. Successful candidates will be able to use their GATE scores for admission to postgraduate programs and for recruitment in various public sector undertakings (PSUs).
