JEE Main 2022 Topper shares JEE strategy 2023 for aspirants, how Mrinal Garg nailed the exam?

Mrinal Garg got All India Rank 5 in JEE Main 2022. He scored 300/300- the perfect score and secured All India Rank 19 in JEE Advanced 2022. His inclination toward mathematics and technology led him to pursue engineering. When asked about his inspiration, he said that his older brother who is pursuing MBBS Jodhpur was his inspiration. This inspiration made his ambition to study Computer Science Engineering at IIT Bombay stronger.

JEE strategy 2023

As JEE Main 2023 is around the corner, we have got you some JEE strategy 2023 from the topper himself. Read below what he shared-

Extra preparation is never bad

He said since he was always interested in mathematics and technology, he would study a little extra from the start only. He said he started his extra studies in class 8 but it was class 11, where he focused on JEE as IIT was his ultimate goal. The basics for JEE can be built from early classes only. That is why all that he studied since these years has helped him a lot in cementing his base for the core subjects in JEE- physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Practice will build your confidence

The first step is to complete the whole syllabus of the entrance exam. The Punjab boy said that after completing the syllabus, his next step was to focus on the mock tests. Mock tests play a vital role in the preparation of such competitive exams. Taking as many mock tests is going to help a lot. Mock tests help you understand the paper pattern, difficulty level, etc. Just taking tests is not going to help until you analyze every mistake and find weak areas and mend them. Moreover, revision of the chapters is also a must regularly.

How to tackle difficult subjects

Mrinal said that mathematics and physics were his favorite subjects but it did not mean that he never faced any difficulties in those subjects. According to him, the key is to strengthen the subjects which seem easy to you in comparison to others. Meanwhile, for him, chemistry was the more challenging subject when compared to others.

A routine/schedule helps

Self-study and having a schedule in the form of a timetable helped Mrinal in his preparation. He shared his timetable where he and his friends would reach the coaching centre early in the morning and would study till 2 pm. They would have a short lunch break but also ensured that their morning study routine was not disturbed in any cause. To balance it out, they would do other things for the rest of the day. He used to study till 2 pm, followed by a lunch break, and again would study till 6. A few short breaks in between and packs up at 11 pm.

Which books to refer to?

For any competitive exams, NCERT is a must. A thorough reading of NCERT books clears basic concepts which helps while understanding difficult ones. Apart from NCERTs, Mrinal read for inorganic chemistry from BK Jaiswal, Himanshu Pandey, and MS Chouhan for organic chemistry, and for physical chemistry, he read N Awasthi. For physics, he read from Physics Galaxy and HC Verma. SL Loni and Vinay Kumar for Mathematics.

This was the JEE strategy 2023 shared by Mrinal Garg, a JEE Main 2022 topper, which would help JEE aspirants. He advised students to revise all the concepts well every day just to be ready for the main exam. Also, this would bring confidence in the aspirants and they will be relaxed at the time of the final exam.
