Eligibility
Criteria:
In order to qualify for the MAT 2024 exam, candidates
must have graduated from a recognized university in any discipline.
Professional degree holders, such as CA, CS, or ICWA, are also eligible to
apply. Moreover, candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply
for the MAT 2024 exam.
Candidates of all ages can participate in MAT 2024, as
AIMA does not specify an upper age limit. While there is no minimum percentage
requirement for the exam, individual institutes may have their own criteria for
admission. For candidates with grades or CGPA, the percentage calculation will
be based on the procedure certified by their respective institute, in
accordance with the participating management institute’s criteria.
Aspiring candidates are permitted to sit for the MAT
exam without any limit on the number of attempts. This policy offers
flexibility and allows individuals to continue attempting the exam until they
achieve a successful outcome. Moreover, the MAT exam does not necessitate a
minimum level of work experience, thereby ensuring accessibility for recent
graduates and early career professionals alike.
Marking
Scheme:
In 2024, the MAT pattern has been updated with
significant changes compared to previous exams. The exam duration has been
shortened from 2.5 hours to 2 hours, and the number of questions has been
reduced from 200 to 150. Despite these changes, all three test modes maintain
the same MAT test structure and sectional composition, with an overall
difficulty level ranging from easy to moderate.
In the latest MAT pattern, each correct answer is
awarded 1 mark, while 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect attempt.
Unanswered questions do not result in any mark deductions. Each section of the
MAT exam carries an equal weightage of 30 marks; however, the score from the
Indian and Global Environment sections is not considered in calculating the MAT
percentile. Therefore, it is recommended to prioritize other sections over this
particular section.
The MAT question paper comprises 150 questions which
are evenly distributed among five distinct sections, namely: Language
Comprehension, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Data Analysis and
Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, and Indian and Global Environment. Each
section encompasses 30 questions.
Aspiring candidates should register early for the MAT
August 2024 to avoid last-minute issues and ensure sufficient preparation
time. Focus on all sections, prioritize those impacting the MAT percentile, and
leverage the revised pattern to boost your chances of success.
