NTA extends deadline for CSIR NET Application

National Testing Agency extended the deadline for online application of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET) 2024 to 27th may. Earlier it was expected to conclude on 21st may. Later on, the schedule was revised by NTA extending the deadline till 27th may, giving more time to aspiring candidates.

The examination covers multiple academic fields such as Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Mathematical Sciences, among others.Interested candidates can submit their CSIR NET application forms by visiting the official website. The correction window for the exam will open on May 29 and will be available until May 31, 2024.

Steps to apply:- 

  • Visit the official website of CSIR UGC NET at https://csirnet.nta.ac.in/.
  • Click on the 'Joint CSIR-UGC NET JUNE-2024: Click here to Registration/Login' link and create an account.
  • Log in to your account using your login credentials.
  • Fill out the application form with accurate academic and personal details.
  • Upload the required documents and submit the form.
  • On the fee payment page, pay the fee online through the provided gateway.
  • Download the confirmation for future reference.

The exam duration is 180 minutes (3 hours) and will feature multiple-choice objective-type questions. It will be conducted in both Hindi and English languages.The examination, organized by the NTA, aims to determine candidates' eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Lectureship (LS)/Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges. Typically, the NTA conducts the CSIR UGC NET twice a year, in June and December.
