A notification has been released by the authorities at the State Council of Educational Research and Training, known as SCERT, Punjab. Notification and Application
All the aspirants who wish to apply for the post of Teacher in the state of Punjab have to apply through the Teachers Eligibility Test. The State Council of Educational Research and Training is responsible for conducting the TET. The eligibility certification provided by the authorities will play a vital role during recruitment in Government schools once the candidates pass the exam. Moreover, TET is also considered a document of prominence in private schools.
The two levels in which the exam is conducted-
1. Primary Teachers PRT
2. Trained Graduate Teachers TGT
In Punjab, for teachers who wish to teach Classes I to V, PSTET 1 is conducted and for those who wish to teach Classes VI to VIII, there is PSTET 2. Candidates can apply according to their qualifications and can also apply for both PSTET 1 and PSTET 2.

Eligibility Criteria
Below are the eligibility criteria for candidates who wish to appear in the PSTET 2023 –
• An Indian resident.
• For candidates applying for PSTET 1, their educational qualifications should be-
1. Senior Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks
2. A two-year diploma in Elementary education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEl.Ed)
• For candidates applying for PSTET 2, their educational qualifications should be-
1. Bachelor’s degree in Science or Arts with 50% marks.
2. One-year degree in Bachelor of Education/ 4-year BEl.Ed.
• Candidates can also apply if they have the following qualification-
1. Senior Secondary level with 50% marks and hold a 4-year degree in BA/B.Sc. merged with Education i.e., BA. Ed. or B.Sc. Ed.

Punjab State Teachers Eligibility Test (PSTET) is one of the important exams conducted by the government of Punjab to recruit teaching staff. Candidates are hereby informed, that Punjab State Teachers Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2023 will be conducted by Punjab Exam Commission on March 12, 2023, at various centers in Punjab.
