The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued the notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2024. The SSC CGL 2024 recruitment aims to fill approximately 17,727 vacancies across various departments. The application process began on June 24 and will run until July 24. Candidates can register on ssc.gov.in.
The SSC CGL 2024 exam will be conducted in two tiers. Tier 1 is scheduled for September-October 2024, and Tier 2 will take place in December 2024 .Shortlisted candidates for SSC CGL 2024 will be appointed to various Group 'B' and Group 'C' positions in different ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India, as well as various constitutional bodies, statutory bodies, and tribunals. Post allocation will be based on the provisions outlined in the examination notice and will follow a merit-cum-preference of posts system.

Important dates:-
For SSC CGL 2024, the last date and time for online fee payments is July 25, 2024, until 11 PM. The correction window and online fee payment will be available from August 10 to August 11, 2024, until 11 PM. The tentative schedule for the Tier-I Computer-Based Examination is September to October 2024, and for the Tier-II Computer-Based Examination, it is December 2024.
Age eligibility:-
For SSC CGL 2024:
· For posts with an age limit of 18-27 years: Candidates must be born between August 2, 1997, and August 1, 2006.
· For posts with an age limit of 20-30 years: Candidates must be born between August 2, 1994, and August 1, 2004.
· For posts with an age limit of 18-30 years: Candidates must be born between August 2, 1994, and August 1, 2006.
· For posts with an age limit of 18-32 years: Candidates must be born between August 2, 1992, and August 1, 2006.
For SSC CGL 2024, age relaxation is provided as follows: SC/ST candidates receive a relaxation of 5 years, OBC candidates receive 3 years, PwBD (Unreserved) candidates are granted 10 years, PwBD (OBC) candidates receive 13 years, and PwBD (SC/ST) candidates are given 15 years.
For SSC CGL 2024, the commission aims to tentatively fill 17,727 vacancies through the examination. The final number of vacancies will be confirmed in due course, according to the commission's notification.
Minimum qualifying marks:-
For SSC CGL 2024, the minimum qualifying marks are specified as follows for Tier-I, Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II & Paper-II of Tier-II Examination:
· UR: 30%
· OBC/EWS: 25%
· All other categories: 20%
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their scores in Tier-I, which is a Computer Based Examination. They will be categorized into respective groups to proceed to Tier-II. Separate cutoffs will be determined for the Junior Statistical Officer post for participation in Paper-I & Paper-II of Tier-II, for the Statistical Investigator Grade-II post for participation in Paper-I & Paper-II of Tier-II, and for all other posts for participation in Paper-I of Tier-II.
Tier-II Examination will be conducted for all candidates who have qualified in Tier-I. In Tier-II, all candidates must participate in all three sections of Paper-I.
Successful candidates in SSC CGL 2024 will be appointed to Group 'B' and Group 'C' positions in ministries, departments, organizations of the Government of India, and various constitutional bodies, statutory bodies, and tribunals. Allocation of posts will be based on merit and candidates' preferences, as specified in the examination notice.
Candidates interested in applying must complete the one-time registration (OTR) process on the new SSC website, ssc.gov.in. Registrations made through the previous platform, ssc.nic.in, will not be accepted. According to the SSC CGL 2024 notification, once registered on the new website, the OTR will remain valid for all future examinations.
