2. Mains Examination

The Mains exam is the second and most crucial phase of the selection process. It consists of descriptive-type questions. The marks obtained in the Mains exam determine the final merit ranking.

Mains Exam Pattern:

  • Paper 1: General Studies120 marks (Duration: 3 hours)
  • Paper 2: General Hindi and Drafting
    • Part 1 (Conventional): 100 marks (Duration: 2.5 hours)
    • Part 2 (General Vocabulary): 60 marks (Duration: 30 minutes)
