UPSC CIVIL Services Prelims Result 2024 Released
UPSC CIVIL SERVICE 2024:
The Civil Services Prelims Result 2024 name and roll number-wise list has been
released by the UPSC today July 20, 2024. The result list has been provided on
the official website of the Union Public Service Commission at https://upsc.gov.in/.
The Civil Service Prelims Examination 2024 was
conducted nationwide on June 16, 2024, at 79 exam centres. Those candidates who
have qualified for the prelims examination must appear for the main
examination. The UPSC Civil Service mains examination will be on
September 20, 2024.
The official notice reads, “In continuation of the
press note dated 01/07/2024 declaring the roll number wise result of the Civil
Services (preliminary) examination, 2024 held on 16/06/2024, the name and
roll number wise result of the candidates who have qualified for admission to
the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2024, is as under:”

There are 1056 vacancies available in the central
government services and departments through the UPSC Civil Services 2024
examination, which covers positions such as the Indian Administrative
Service (IAS), the Indian Police Service (IPS), and the Indian Foreign Service
(IFS). Out of these vacancies, 40 are specifically reserved for Persons with
Benchmark Disability Category.
UPSC Civil Service Mains 2024: Announcements
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has
announced that the Civil Services Main Examination 2024 will commence on
September 20, 2024. Candidates who have successfully cleared the prelims
examination are eligible to appear for the mains. The Civil Services (Main)
Examination comprises two parts: a Written Examination and an
Interview/Personality Test.
Written Examination: The written
exam is designed to assess the academic knowledge and intellectual capabilities
of the candidates. It includes nine papers, of which two are qualifying papers,
and seven are counted for ranking. The subjects cover a wide range of topics,
including essay writing, general studies, and optional subjects chosen by the
candidates.
Interview/Personality Test:
Candidates who pass the written examination will be called for the interview or
personality test. This stage is crucial as it evaluates the overall
personality, communication skills, and suitability of the candidate for a
career in civil services.
Candidates are advised to prepare thoroughly for both
